I am going to miss my friends and family and High School.
That's all.

Hurmmm
There are a few things I've been thinking about to get me ready for exchange next year. None of them are very important, but I have been doing homework for a few hours, and I feel like writing, and I need a break, so I think I will jot them down. Okay? Okay.
1. Pictures: I want to bring some photos along next year to look at myself (I mean to look at them myself, not to see what I look like), and to show my host family and other potential Swissish acquaintances. I think I will buy a smallish photo album (50-100 photos) and fill it with random pictures of my friends, family, and vacations. And Annie. There are no shortages of those.
2. Random things to bring: Rubik's cube, select jewelry, nail clipper, a favorite movie, a favorite book, a sketchbook, a selection of markers/pens/pencils/etc... That's all I've got right now, hahaha.
3. Going away party: I want a chance to say goodbye to everyone at once. That's not to say that I won't hang out with a few people immediately before I leave, but one shindig with all of my friends would give the whole "I'm not going to see you for a year" feeling a lift. And it would be quite the bash. I'm thinking a picnic at Lake Harriet, or something like that, where people can show up and leave when they want. I also want to get an address book for everyone to write their contact info in, and a notebook where they can write me a going away message. Because I have a feeling there will be rough times next year when I will need to look at it for help.
4. Goodbyes: It's going to be so so so insanely hard to say goodbye. I know I will cry and that's stinky (though not unexpected.) It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of pre-departure, but when I imagine what it is going to be like saying toodles to my friends for the last time in a year, and hugging my family at the airport with the knowledge that I will come back a new person, it's really tough. And I still have like 5 months!
...And that's it for now. It's not much, but that's okay. There's plenty of time for actual important entries come August.
Peace then --->
P.S. Oh and I know it's 'Swiss' but saying 'Swissish' is just too much fun to pass up.
